HIGHLIGHT
Flamingos, White and Black Rhinos, Giraffes, Tree climbing lions
The Rhino Sanctuary: Lake Nakuru is one of Kenya’s most successful and heavily guarded sanctuaries for endangered rhinos. Because the park is fenced, your chances of seeing both southern white black rhinos are incredibly high.
The Resurgent Pink Flamingos: The lake’s chemistry has stabilized, and hundreds of thousands of lesser and greater flamingos have made a major comeback, gathering in spectacular, noisy pink ribbons along the shallower southern shores.
Tree-Climbing Lions and Rare Giraffes: Nakuru’s lions have developed a distinct knack for climbing high into the branches of acacia trees to escape the afternoon heat or wet grass—keep your eyes looking up!
Best Time for Wildlife Viewing: The Dry Seasons are the prime months for classic big game viewing. The park’s grasses thin out and dry up, making it incredibly simple to spot predators and rhinos against the landscape. Roads are firm, and driving conditions are ideal.
