HIGHLIGHT
Rhino Sanctuary, Rare Northern Species (Grevy’s Zebras, reticulated Giraffe, Somali Ostrich).
An Uncrowded “Big Five” Safari
Because it receives a fraction of the visitor numbers seen in the Mara, you can track iconic African wildlife—including lions, leopards, elephants, and large herds of buffalo—with the rare luxury of having the horizon entirely to yourself.
Rare Northern Specials
Due to its unique geographical positioning, Meru is home to rare Northern Kenyan wildlife species not easily found in southern parks, such as the reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, and the elegant, long-necked gerenuk.
Best Time for Game Viewing:
June to September and January to February (Dry seasons; the vegetation thins significantly and wildlife naturally congregates around the 13 permanent rivers, making tracking highly successful).
